Strengths and weaknesses
Sky: Children of the Light
- No ads and nothing pay-to-win
- Gorgeous art and music
- Cross-platform play with friends
- Little challenge and no combat
- Needs an internet connection
- Candles and season passes can add up
Sky is the rare online game built around kindness. You fly through seven hand-crafted realms, solve gentle puzzles and meet strangers who might take your hand and lead you somewhere new, often without a word. It's free, has no ads, and everything for sale is cosmetic. Seasons keep adding new stories, like 2026's walk-through Van Gogh paintings. If you want combat or loot, there's very little here.

Old School RuneScape
- Same worlds and progress as the PC game
- Small app that runs on modest phones
- No ads, and bonds let you pay with in-game gold
- Dated graphics, by design
- Fiddly menus on small screens
- Membership needed for much of the game
Old School RuneScape is the full desktop MMO on your phone, with the same worlds and account as the PC version. Train 24 skills, quest, raid, or just fish while the TV is on, and vote on what gets added next. The Sailing skill opened up the seas in late 2025. The free world is generous, but much of the game sits behind membership, and right-click-style menus are fiddly on a small screen.
