Strengths and weaknesses
Sky: Children of the Light
- No ads and nothing pay-to-win
- Gorgeous art and music
- Cross-platform play with friends
- Little challenge and no combat
- Needs an internet connection
- Candles and season passes can add up
Sky is the rare online game built around kindness. You fly through seven hand-crafted realms, solve gentle puzzles and meet strangers who might take your hand and lead you somewhere new, often without a word. It's free, has no ads, and everything for sale is cosmetic. Seasons keep adding new stories, like 2026's walk-through Van Gogh paintings. If you want combat or loot, there's very little here.

DREDGE
- Pay once, with no ads or timers
- Moody art and an unsettling story
- Try the first area before you buy
- Full price is steep for a mobile game
- Shorter than most RPGs
- Recent updates are only small fixes
DREDGE starts as a relaxing fishing game. You sell your catch, upgrade your trawler and chat with odd islanders. Then night falls, the fog rolls in, and the fish start looking wrong. Packing your grid-shaped cargo hold is oddly satisfying, the mystery keeps pulling you forward, and controllers work too. On iOS you can try the first area free before paying once. It's shorter than most RPGs here, and that's fine.
