Strengths and weaknesses
Gemini
- Works across the Google apps you already use
- Lots for free, with strong models
- Paid plans include extra Google storage
- People review some chats, and they're kept for years
- Best features are tied to Google accounts and services
Gemini is the easy pick if you already live in Google's apps. It works across Gmail, Drive, Calendar and dozens of other linked apps. It writes Deep Research reports and makes images and video. Gemini Live makes voice chats feel natural, and there are now native Mac and Windows apps. The trade-off is privacy. People review some chats, and the app collects a lot. Paid plans come with extra Google storage.

Gamma
- Polished first drafts from a short prompt
- Exports to PowerPoint and Google Slides on every plan
- Imports your existing PDFs and PowerPoint files
- Free credits are a one-time grant that never refreshes
- Free plan caps you at 10 slides per prompt
- Individual plans train on your content unless you opt out
Gamma turns a prompt, an outline or a pasted document into a polished presentation, doc, website or social post in moments. Gamma 5, released in October 2026, lets you talk the idea through with its agent before it builds anything, then fine-tune on a freeform canvas. Exports to PowerPoint, PDF and Google Slides work even on the free plan. Free credits never refresh, though, and free decks carry Gamma branding.
