Strengths and weaknesses
Apple Weather

- Clean charts and maps that are easy to read
- Rain and severe weather notifications
- No Android, Windows or web version
- Next-hour rain and alerts aren't offered in every country

Apple Weather is the forecast app already on your iPhone, and it's good enough that many people never need another. You get hour-by-hour charts, a 10-day outlook, next-hour rain alerts, severe weather warnings, air quality and maps. iOS 27 added a Highlights summary and quick switching between conditions, rain and wind. You can't change the layout or the data source, and some features aren't offered in every country.

RadarScope
- Raw radar data, not smoothed maps
- Its privacy label says no data is collected
- Pro tiers add lightning, archives and models
- Hard to learn for casual users
- Costs money upfront, plus extra subscriptions
- No everyday forecast view
RadarScope shows you what the radar really sees. You get data from single radar sites, like velocity (wind movement), instead of a smoothed rain map. It updates every two to ten minutes, with NWS warnings and storm tracks on top. That's how spotters find hook echoes and debris signatures. It costs money upfront and assumes you know what you're looking at. But nothing on a phone beats it for severe weather.
