The verdict
Clash Royale packs real strategy into three-minute matches. You build an eight-card deck, drop troops and spells onto a small arena in real time, and try to knock down your opponent's towers before they take yours. Heroes, evolutions and the Merge Tactics mode have kept it fresh ten years on. Card levels still matter, though, and spending speeds them up, so climbing high can feel like paying to progress.
- Real-time 1v1 and 2v2 battles
- Eight-card deck building
- Heroes and card evolutions
- Merge Tactics auto-battler mode
- Clans and global tournaments
