Strengths and weaknesses
VaultFlow
- No bank login and no subscription
- Bills, budgets and net worth in one place
- Export everything as a spreadsheet any time
- No automatic transaction sync
- Apple devices only, with no web or Android app
VaultFlow covers spending, bills and net worth in four simple screens, and it does it without asking for your bank password. You import your bank's statement file instead, and duplicates are skipped. Bills remind you before they are due, and the wealth view tracks accounts, cards, investments, property and loans. It needs more manual effort than Monarch, but it costs nothing and keeps your data on your device.

Robinhood
- Clean, fast app that makes trading easy to understand
- No commissions on stock and ETF trades
- IRA contribution match is a rare perk
- Relies partly on payment for order flow
- Research tools are thinner than at big brokers
Robinhood made investing feel simple, and it is still the slickest way to buy stocks, ETFs, options and crypto from your phone. Stock and ETF trades are commission-free, and the optional Gold plan adds a higher cash yield, research reports and a bigger retirement match. The catch is a design that can nudge you toward frequent trading. Treat it as a tool, not a game.
