Strengths and weaknesses
Ente Auth
- Free with no ads or premium tier
- Encrypted sync means a lost phone won't lose your codes
- Desktop and web apps are rare among 2FA apps
- Only handles 2FA codes, not passwords
- Fewer business and admin features than paid rivals
Ente Auth is the 2FA app we recommend to most people. It stores your two-factor codes with end-to-end encryption, syncs them across phone, desktop and web, and is fully open source. It's free with no ads, and you can use it offline without an account. Importing from Google Authenticator and other apps is easy. The catch: it only generates codes, so you'll still need a password manager.

NordVPN
- Consistently fast connections
- Reliable for streaming services abroad
- Lots of extras like Threat Protection and dark web alerts
- Frequent upsells to bundles and add-ons
- Renewal prices are much higher than introductory deals
NordVPN is one of the fastest VPNs, and it's packed with extras. NordLynx connections are quick, servers cover many countries, streaming unblocking is reliable, and Threat Protection blocks ads, trackers and malicious sites. Its no-logs policy has been independently audited. The catch is constant upselling and renewal prices that jump after the first term. Get it if speed and streaming matter most.
